MPB
"Like Me"
Like Me is a short film created for MPB that captures the emotional beginning of a filmmaker’s journey. The story follows a young girl receiving a camera for the first time and learning how to use it through experimentation, mistakes, and persistence. Shaky shots, missed moments, and imperfect results become part of the learning process rather than failures.
As she watches and draws inspiration from established filmmakers who look and feel like her, the film highlights the importance of visibility and access in creative growth. By mirroring, practising, and adapting what she sees, she begins to develop confidence and her own creative voice.
The campaign aligns with MPB’s mission to make filmmaking more accessible, celebrating second-hand gear not just as equipment, but as a gateway to opportunity. Like Me positions MPB as a champion of emerging creators — showing that every filmmaker starts somewhere, and that inspiration, representation, and the right tools can spark a lifelong passion.
