Lovesick: The idea Of You
Set against the dreamy sprawl of Los Angeles, LoveSick: The Idea of a You is an off-kilter comedy by artist, filmmaker, and writer Kailee McGee that explores female friendship, attraction, and the quiet disappointment of falling short—of others’ expectations and our own.
Blurring the line between fiction and reality, the film follows a surreal LA adventure led by Kate Adams, alongside Anna Cordell and Whitmer Thomas. At its core, the film is a love letter to friendship and fantasy, where everyday moments become expansive through emotional projection and imagination.
Music plays a central role, with an original song and score by Dresage (aka Keeley Bumford), including the centerpiece track Decorate You. Together, image and sound capture the feeling of being lovesick—not just for a person, but for an idea of who we think we are and who we hope others might be.
I worked on this project as a Creative Editing Intern, supporting social media edits and cut-downs, and helping adapt the film for platform-first storytelling and audience engagement across social channels.
